“Great tour”
We enjoyed the tour with Eric. He knows the little things that you would never get and he was attentive to our questions and needs. 100% recommended!

Michelangelo's David 3-H Walking Tour and Accademia
“Great historical, architectural and art knowledge. ”
We had an excellent walking tour. She had a great knowledge of the city, the architecture and the museums. She gave great perspective of how to identify who made what and how facades were remodeled based on the period. Our tour ended at the Accademia. We had an easy time getting in for our time slot. Be sure to purchase your tickets separately in advance of your trip!

A day trip to Traditional shrine from Shimizu port
“Lovely relaxed day for wheelchair traveller with organised guide”
As a party of three (with one in a heavy motorised wheelchair), we were aboard the Diamond Princess. Before leaving home, I tried to organise a 'care taxi ' with no luck due to the weight of the wheelchair. The cruise ship's dedicated excursion staff were similarly unable to find anything. Enter Yasuko, guide extraordinaire.... She researched how to get wheelchairs around Shimizu on public transport. We were able to take buses and trains from the plaza at the port to Sumpu Castle (including well kept gardens and park and views of the city from an observation floor). We had tea at the cute little tea house. There were food trucks and stalls in the park. It was 'Children's Day' so there were many families and children out playing and picknicking in the park. Yasuko asked for permission for us to be allowed to photograph these cute children. Afterwards, we went into the town nearby. Yasuko helped me find a place to get some money out, and there were street performers nearby. Although Yasuko was very organised and must have done quite some background research (including all about my son's wheelchair even!), she was very calm and relaxed and we had a lovely day that was not arduous. It was a glorious, warm sunny day. We were lucky enough to have clear views of Fuji-san throughout the day, and later as we sailed closer and closer, off into the sunset. Yasuko was a great guide with good English (she lived in Australia for a while). I'm sure she would expertly create a tour or trip to suit your needs. Additionally, she took a few photos during the day, some of which I will share here. In the morning we were off the ship a lot earlier than we expected (some 45 minutes or so), having been told it could take a long time to pass through immigration). Even though Yasuko had travelled for an hour or so to meet us, we were able to get on our way promptly. Communication prior to the day was also very good. Obviously, Yasuko comes highly recommended!!
